The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) is collaborating with Fehr & Peers to prepare the Reno Sparks Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan that will:
- Provide an assessment of current bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure.
- Develop a plan for a future bikeway system.
- Identify pedestrian improvements in areas with a high demand for walking.
- Develop a prioritized list of projects based on community input, closing existing gaps/deficiencies, latent demand, and project constructability/feasibility. This list will be used to secure funding for bicycle and pedestrian projects.
In addition, as a separate process, Fehr & Peers is developing a regional ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Transition Plan. The Transition Plan will identify barriers within public rights-of-way and provide an action plan to remove the barriers.
